Antonio Guijarro-Morales

Aguijarro is the nickname of Antonio Guijarro-Morales, a cardiologist doctor born in Guadix (Granada, Spain) in 1943.
He acquired his first pictorial knowledge at the Guadix’s Applied Arts and Artistic Offices School, where Don Aureliano del Castillo was the master director.
His hobbies are the drawing, the painting, the photography, the literature, the trips and the informatics.
He is an assiduous participant in the doctors annual collective art exhibitions at the Granada’s University Faculty of Medicine, and in those sporadic ones at the San Cecilio Clinical Hospital, where he develops his professional activity as a clinical medical cardiologist.
He never thought to exhibit his paintings individually until year 2001. That year he made the decision to expose individually, when, dealing digitally with the computer his own drawings and photographs, he considered that those art works reached such a high quality as to be worthwhile to expose them to the public.
In 2001 June the 20-29 he exposed at Doctor Abellán of Granada a collection of 40 art works of computerized photography untitled "Granada, light and shade": http://web.jet.es/aguijarro/gls
Painting with electronic brush and several computer tools he gone a step ahead in his pictorial compositions, giving rise to that he denominated "analogical-digital paintings".
He exhibits a sample of this kind of painting, denominated "The Alhambra, dream and nightmare", in the Exhibition Hall of The Literary and Scientific Artistic Centre of Granada, from 2001 December the 22 till 2002 January the 5:

Although he has never left absolutely the analogical-digital works, at the moment he is preparing a new exhibition entirely analogical, that’s to say of conventional manual painting. The works exposed here belongs to this last stage.
